That's crazy. I agree with Gedo_Boy, khat is clearly an addictive drug. The stupid thing is you have to consume your own weight's worth of jaad to get a buzz, so no one gets anything else done.

No matter how mild jaad is, it's still khamr. Basic principle is that if a large amount intoxicates, then also small amount is xaraam. And everything that intoxicates is khamr.

Find the me the verse in the Quran or a Hadith which prohibits the use of legendary plant!!!

Both of those principles I just stated are sayings of Prophet (scws).

"if a large amount intoxicates then a small amount is prohibited" was narrated in hadiith compilation by al Nasaa'i and classed as hasan and "khamr is all things that intoxicates" is narrated in Bukhari and Muslim. Some versions add "and every khamr is haram" to the latter one.
