This Dahabshiil GUy........

Post by Gedo_Boy »

Everytime I go to send money, which has become QUITE OFTEN since some of my cousins discovered my Cell phone (BIG MISTAKE), sometimes I use Dahabshiil. I am assuming he is Isaaq becuause of the accent, but then again I sometimes use another xawaalad and he is Dhulbahante so I can't be certain.

This guy is very rude to me........kind of like in his 40s I guess.

At first I thought I was being discriminated because of my Qabiil. He doesn't know my tribe, except I have been sending money to Beled Xaawo, Baardheere, Garbahaarey............so I am thinking he has an idea Sad

I don't have to mention that my Somali is not perfect, on top of that I am not familiar with his accent and choice of words sometimes.........so I have to concentrate and read his lips. I think this adds to his frustration.

Anyways, one day I made a mistake on the list of amounts and who I was sending to. He started yelling at me and telling me that I do this EVERYTIME to him. I became angry, but I still remain patient because he's an older man he could be like my dad or Adeer.

BTW, I always call him Adeer and I greet him, but HE'S ALL BUSINESS. I'm like "Salam Caleykum, Adeer ii waran?"

and he's like: "Telefonkaada isii"

Anyways, the other day I had to come early, like 10 am, and I saw him standing outside.........it looked as if he was locked outside, like he was waiting on something.

Anyways, I ask him: "Adeer ma xirantihiin?..."

and he's like (in a straight face): "We're JUST Opening, how can we be closing?"

I have even been trying to modify my accent and word usage so I could 'fit in' by using words like "imikaan" instead of "aminkaan" and "asagu" instead of "asaga".............but I do not seem to be doing a good job.

Are Isaaq people generally more conservative or reserved, or is it just him?

At Dahabshiil, I'm the one who feels Qaldaan Laughing

The funny thing is, I go to the other Xawaalad, KAAH Express. He's Dhulbahante but he has the same accent as the Dahabshiil guy.

He is Abdi Bile, the REAL Abdi Bile, the Olympic runner Abdi Bile.

HE's a real nice guy, I go to him when I can, but sometimes the cities he services are different.
