LONDON (AP) - Soccer star David Beckham, known as much for his hairstyles, frequent tabloid covers and former Spice Girl wife as his "Bend it like Beckham" corner kicks, will leave Real Madrid to join the Los Angeles Galaxy.
An entertainment personality who draws paparazzi like a movie star, Beckham is the epitome of the modern mix of celebrity and athlete.

Obviously he is trying to establish himself in the American market. I heard about this yesterday
Real are stupid for selling him. Not because of the way he plays, but because of the money they will lose. The guy has alot of commercial value especially in East Asia. Chinks love him.

^^ $250 millon in 5 yrs is not significant amount compared to what he used to get in EU. He is shit and the big team dont want him anymore, the only reason Real M bought him in the first place was cause of marketing.

I heard he got some fans in the US too.. mostly teenage girls. "Soccer" is a women's sport in the US

Becks only have the following qualities as a footballer
1.amazing free kicks world class
2.good vision when it comes to passing the ball to other players
3.corners he is your man to do it
to summ it up he is only good at kicking the ball for the rest he is a average player not to mention he is slow and loses the ball quickly

He has a Soccer Academy in LA, And he wants to make it into a successful team in the future thats probably why he wants to go to LA.
