I think that the american goverment is urging for african peace keepers to be deployed into somalia is to path the way for the downfall of the TFG and Abduallhi yusuf. The US goverment seems to hold its full support and stamp of approval from the TFG and the president.

The US goverment knows that the TFG is extremly unpopular with the powerful hawiya clans that were once allied to the islamic courts and other somali clans in the south and central regions within somalia.

Abdullahi should think carfully and not fall into this trap set for him by the US goverment, he should use the young somali millitias as part of the somali national defense force, he can easily raise 30 million US dollars to finance over 15, 000 young somali millitias as part of the new somali defense force.

This move would be incredibly popular with the somali people and it would create jobs for the umemployed youth that could have been a major secrurity problem for the country. It would also boost the somali economy and encourage the warlords to join the new somali defense force.

The question i ask here is the president smart and strong enough to avoid the trap of having Au troops that he has no control of into somalia.
He should bear in mind that he's presidency term is near end, and that to continue being in power he must not allow to be weakened by Au troops.

The question about Ethiopia is once the president secures somali for himself he should tell the ethiopians to leave, he should bear in mind that the ethiopians are a serious threat for the stabilty of somalia as they extremly work hard to keep somali lawless and divided.

So yusuf it is an obligation of you to try and unite the country since you have destroyed the one good thing the somali people had (ICU).
The somali people do not care if you wish to be president for life, we only care about the stablity and the independence of the somali people.
You should work hard to promote fairness and good treament to all clans in somalia and avoid what other leaders did wrong before you.

We wish to encourage you to implement the sharia and turn to God for guidance for leading the muslim somali people.
Take note that since you choose to become leader that Allah will hold you to everything you do and truley one day you will meet your creator and tell him your actions.

IF TFG were not unpopular they would never step a foot into Xamar.

Highclass trust me the Us goverment for some reason are not fully backing this TFG goverment.

Highclass the TFG are making serious mistakes by alienating powerful somali clans, people are just waiting for when the ethiopians go and retreat then you should see serious power struggles within somalia as Mogdishio flares up.

MOGADISHU (AFP) - Somalis have expressed growing fears of a relapse into violence as the African Union met to discuss the troubled deployment of a stabilisation force for their war-torn nation.

Visiting UN envoy Francois Fall told interim President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed on Thursday Somalia had a better chance of peace than at any other time since the era of infighting among warlords began 16 years ago.

But Yusuf, the new ruler of Mogadishu since the ouster of hardline Islamists late last month, faces a huge task in disarming rival militia and banishing Mogadishu's reputation for chaos even with the help of foreign peacekeepers.

Only Uganda has so far indicated its willingness to contribute troops to the force which a number of countries have doubted can begin deploying any time soon.

The African Union's peace and security council was due to discuss the proposed 8,000-strong force at a meeting in its Addis Ababa headquarters later Friday and debate a new report put together by a fact-finding team.

Ethopia, whose military intervention against the Islamists proved decisive last month, wants to withdraw its troops but its arch enemy Eritrea became the latest country to express doubts about the viability of an African Union force.

Eritrean President Issaias Afeworki, who has previously accused Ethiopia of destabilising Somalia, said that the AU lacked the "organisational capability" to deploy effectively in Somalia.

"We need to know what will be the mission and second, how would the African Union which is proved to have failed in other parts" succeed this time around, he told al-Jazeera television.

South Africa, the continent's current representative on the United Nations security council, has also doubted whether the AU can shoulder the burden of another peace mission.

On the streets of Mogadishu, which has lacked a central authority since the 1991 ouster of dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, residents fear that the prevalence of weapons and presence of troops from traditional enemy Ethiopia does not bode well for the future.

While a number of key warlords have symbolically handed over guns in the last few days, the vast majority of militiamen from rival clans have kept hold of their weapons.

"Peace is a long way off as long as the government is under the shadow of the Ethiopian government and the president is guarded by Ethiopian special forces in the presidential palace," said former militiaman Bile Mohamed Gurey.

"We are still waiting for something terrible and are so worried so much about security because the government is not fully patrolling the city while the arms are still in the hands of the civilians," said Mogadishu businessman Mohamed Hussein Daud.

"We cannot forecast long-lasting peace in Somalia, particularly in the capital where there are a lot of government rivals and remnants of the Islamists," added Daud.

Others fear however that the departure of the Ethiopians, the most powerful military in the region, would merely usher back in the Islamists.

"The Islamists are among the people and whenever the Ethiopian tanks leave the country everything will start from where they were," said Ahmed Nur Elmi a grocer in Mogadishu's Bakara market. "The Islamic courts will be seen soon."
