my father, his brothers and their father and everyone they were related to were all at one time or another part of the Somali National Army, i see pictures of them in their days in the family albums and stuff, so if they see this video it'll probably bring back a lot of memories for them. the somali commandos in the green look very nice, and well trained.

We had the best milliatry in the Horn of afica, we were then a nation, then you could say somalia had leaders to rule a nation.

Peoplei wish Siad Barre was back and all that happened never happened, Siad barre did kill some people but he killed very little compared to wat the warlords killed, and he did atleast care about somalia unlike the new pen warlords that called themselves the TFG government.

Two mistakes said barre made:

(1) He welcomed back the rebellious Mj into he's Goverment, whch was a big mistake since they encourage said barre to attack HG and the isaacs.

(2) He started to kill and oppress the Haber Gider clan by arressting HG clan elders and arresting General Farah Aidid.

I know alot of people don't like said barre but aleast he never let adoons and Ethiopians in our country and least somalia was then i country.

The 1989 massare of sacads was soley commited by the Mj pretending to be Goverment forces and siad barre was innocent of what they done.

Blame the Thieves of 1969 who stole the Presidency & democracy from Somalia.

Only another crook can remove crook.

Mooryaanism was born on October 21, 1969.

Xoog

Let me be blunt and tell you this..

The worst mistake by Aabaha Kcaanka(God knows how much I respect that man) is that he made the Somali Army meddle with qabil.

And thats the worst thing someone can do...when you alleinate your army or divide them along tribal lines..

Confused Afweyne had one good point when he send A.Yusuf in Ethopia to be raped and mutilated in Jail just as Hitler knew why he needed to create gas chambers and oven.

What i don't understand about said barre was why did he turn against the clan that favoured him (HG) and why did he perfer Mj over HG.
That i don't understand because the Mj were straight up traitors they were working with the ethiopians on the destruction of somalia.

Funny one of the men soley responsible for the destruction of somalia (Mr yusuf) is now the president of somalia.

I guess the other dumb merehans around said barre played him the music of the so called darood unity.

If darood unity truley exist why don't they free their fellow daroods in Ogaden and NFD.

Therefore said barre made a huge Mistake by making enemy's with a clan that consist 70% of he's army and who live within he's stronghold area's.

xoogSADE1 you cannot blame Haber Gider nor hawiya for what happened to somalia, the problem lies at those leaders that have created a climate of hatred and distrust between clans that once never had problems with each other.

AbdiWahab is, of course, quite correct. The Somalia of today is the legacy of Mohammed Siad Barre.

Somalia's pluralistic democracy was not flawless, but it worked. Everyone had a seat at the table. It is the only solution for a people as politically fractured as the Somalis of today.

The mistake Siad Barre made was not respecting the laws and constitution of his own country and trying to take by force that which was not rightfully his (the presidency of Somalia).

Half of these guys above became rapist, killers among other things. They could save the country from what it has become today if they were honest and serious countryman. They put their loyalty to Af Wayne before the interest of their country. That is why we call them FAQASH. Instead of protecting the weak and the average citizens, the SOMALI MILITARY became threat to its own people.

MadMac:

Good analysis.

The multiparty system democracy in the 60s help check tribal rivalaries. After the 1969 revolution, there were no outlets for voicing opposition to the State unless through the barrel of the gun.
