There's No Oil in Somaliland ? The humanitarian situation in South somali is worse than in Dafur. There's no point if Abdullahi Yousuf likes you or hates you.
I don't think these countries will recover as it is too big this disaster. ...In south somalia there are only poorly equipped Darood and Hawiye ruled by Tigray.

There is a Oil Potential in Somaliland....whether its real potential its not known since it has never been explored.

There might be some potential. But frankly, if the potential is there, given that Somaliland has been stable for 15 years, what are the oil companies waiting for? There are companies drilling in shitholes like southern Sudan right now.
I think there is more rumor than substance behind it.[/quote]
Southern Sudan is part of Sudan...while SOmaliland although not recognized does not consider itself as part of Somalia anymore and if Somaliland gains independence than it overwrite the oil deals Sayed Barre signed with American oil companies. For this reason US has more interest in keeping Somaliland part of SOmalia.
Oil companies have signed contracts to explore SOmaliland, so they haven't stayed away.
