Civilising the Barbarian - The Arts

Post by Padishah »

Right.

I have appointed myself the task of civilising you assorted collection of Barbarians, Phillistines, Ruffians, Vandals, Vagabonds and generally uncivilised uncultured brutes, and turn you all into Homo Sapien Sapien, inshAllah. I shall endeavour to fulfill this task to the best of my formidable ability.

Today, as the first installment of this collection, I have for you a lovely song by the famous Ahmed Naji, entitled 'Hidiyooy'. Something Somali so as to minimise the shock to your Neanderthal Central Nervous systems, that might not be able to handle the strain of foreign Art.

Enjoy folks!

Dawladsade, did you even try the video? Shame.

I did anticipate some resistance to my program for the civilisation of the Barbarians.

But, as the famous adage goes: Resistance is futile! Twisted Evil Muahahahahahahaha

Oh, Advocator, the lyrics I thought were appropriate for the Barbarians.

No. Not particularly.

If you're thinking the name is effeminate, then read:

Padishah is a Persian word meaning Great King, or High King. It was used by Persian, Ottoman and Mughal Royalty as a title. Where I got it from was reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert, a Sci-Fi fiction series to do with the effects of hydraulic despotism, that is, witholding a vital resource to control people. Anywho, there wis within the book the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV who ruled the known galacy blah blah blah.

Hope I cleared it up.

Who is barbarian? Just because you took some courses in the physical anthroplogy doesn't give you the justification to brand everyone here as barbarian. Barbar was derived from Greek and they refered to whoever spoke any language other than theirs. You need to read the etiquetes of how to debate with people because you really seem barbaric writer to me. Laughing

Gender specific word usage. Didn't know that 'Akhas!' was female.

Er, no. I did not do any course in Physical Anthropology at all, and I have no idea where that came from. I'm well aware of the origins of the word thankyou. And the idea that one is a barbarian and capable of writing is oxymoronic. Who ever heard of a civilised barbarian?
