Yemen has granted political asylum to head of Somalia's Union of Islamic Courts, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, who is expected to leave Kenya for Yemen on Monday, Yemeni officials said Sunday.

"The Yemeni government has granted Sheikh Sharif refugee status and residence permit," a senior Yemeni government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

Somalis in UK and other EU countries have gone to Yemen to hand over money tehy have gathered for ICU...they will be back in the game soon.

the only ones who are against the ICU are spineless cowards just like the TFG who decided to get a foreign force like the ethiopians. you see, the ICU have brough peace in a place where the world and even God seem to have turne its back on. they squached qabyaalad, (tribalism) by bringing Islam and the sharia in an effort to unite the people; and they did succed to an extend but werent given a chance. so came the TFG riding on Meles's lap and doing niko all the way to villa somalia. killing and raping on their way with full blessing of so-called somali government. the same government that gave america their blessing to bomb those nomads in ogadenia along with their camels.

hope wont turn civil war in palestine. things cannot be worser. we have a president who is silly and islamists who think they cannot go wrong.

The Sheik gave his word he would not support political violence before he was granted asylum. Will he keep it?
