why somali woman lighten their skin.

why do they do it.?

i saw this somali lady who lighten her sick the other day. her skin looked sick to the point where it was simply peeling off, it looks so fake, some parts are red some yellow, some black. and she looks weird. anybody can tell.

i understand when they put on normal stuff to brighten their skin, but to totally change your skin and to be white like michel jackson. is indeed strange.

why do they do that. is it because beauty in somali society is seeing as light skin girl, and a dark skin one is basically not excepted or not regarded as good looking because of her darkness to the point where she'll go to extreme measures to change her skin colour.

somali girls should know they are born with natural beauty, and somalis are not even that dark compared to other africans, our darkest colour is mariin.

so we should put a stop to this nonesense and chemicals they are using to ruin their skin. we shouldnt promote it but we should teach them that its wrong and unnatural.

but the funny thing is when they lighten their skin with bleach... do they have to keep using it forever to stay that colour, or are they gonna be that colour permanently without having to use the cream again.
because i find it funny putting some weird chemical sh!t on your skin, forever...

Im on the lighter side but I have this friend she's dark skinned...but gorgeous walaahi Mashallah. Guess who get's more attention...And she looks 10x's better than I do.


My uncle just married this lady from Dubai, she has bleached to the point of no return...aad bey uu cadahay..So one weekend he came over with a cpl of my other uncles, my parents were there also and sibblings....So he took the pic out and showed us what she looked like...All my uncles even my mom were like she is "beautiful" "quruxley". My sister and I looked at eachother...What on earth she was....let's just say Masha'Allah...I hope she has a nice personality..Lol

Have you known Khadra Dahir, the singer? She was a very dark women.. A little bit lighter than her ex-husband Ahmed Ali Cigaal...Now you will just wonder if she had a "Baras"... That is how much women are bleaching themselves... I saw the most disgusting sight when it comes to bleaching. There is this chick from baadiye, she came about three months ago and started bleaching herself the wrong way. Her face and arms are turning white by the day while her neck and elbows still remain their natural dark/blue color, she looks like a zebra. I wonder why her relatives are watching and not telling her that she is turning into a freak

I heard some astonishing thing when I was in Garissa, Kenya last summer, let alone girls, some boys have started using this bleeching stuff and a certain fella in that city is now known as 'Khadija' (he used to be dark and now he is quite light).
