All sources say somalia is 85% 'somali' this including the rahanweyn/digil mirifle/maay-maay or whatever they call them self.

-they speak a different language
-they are farmers and so were their ancestors for thousands of years SOMALIS are NOMADS
-their custom is different they have alot of witchcraft in their culture still

in countries like ethiopia, eritrea sources say its filled with ethnic groups

but somalia is homogeneous? so why are these non-Somalis considered Somali?

Somalia is only 65% Somali (-15% Bantus and Arabs, -20% Rahanweyn) and not a homogeneous country....

U forgot to mention the Garre.....they have their own language which is a mixture of amharic iyo af oromo.

If you take out Somaliland its 45% Somali MINORITY

If you take out Somaliland and Puntland, Konfuur is only 30% Somali MINORITY

The only non somali I know are the Tigre Dabodhilif.

Midgaan and Yibir Boon Yaxar are ethnic Somali just not belonging to ''nasab'' somali clans

Warya_dude i would consider the rahanweyn/digil mirifle as somali but a lower caste somali since they have occasionally inter-married with Bantu's (Disgusting thing to do for any noble somali), however they are still loyal to their fellow superior somalis and are part of the larger somali society but of lower status.

However i would never view a Bantus nor an arap (Brawanai) as somali, they do not fit into the somali clan structure and are alien to our society.

Still i am surprised how huge the number of the Bantu ( former slaves from Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania) which i believe range from 500, 000 to 750, 000, which is a huge number.

If they are Somali, There is no difference between Oromos, Afars, Somalis, Hararis

If the rule doesn't apply for Sab people in Somalia then Oromos are also Somali.

Am sure they somali, they are just considered of lower status because they farm rather then herd camels and they allowed themselves to interbreed with Bantus.

Somali = Anybody who speaks the original Somali language and is native to the Horn of Africa.

Rahanweyn = Not Somali just like Oromos and Amhara they only live close to us thats the difference

If your only argument is they are of lower status this isnt valid to make them the same ethnic group as us.

Warya_dude actually they do speak somali but they have different words and a strong regional accent of somali they speak with.

Hey people lets leave these people in peace, i have no problem with them, infact they us Haber Gider alot in the cival war by killing alot of our enemies for us.
