Did you know Djibouti awarded a 20 years contract to Dubai Ports Authority and has asked Somaliland to give them som land in past ? ( 1999 -2000 )

You know I did find GDP per capita for Somaliland regions , the data shows that W/Galbeed has the highest GDP per pers and it is followed by Togdheer then Sanaag, Awdal and then Sool .
The GDP per person is 40 % higher in W/galbeed then in Sool and believe or not it is actually higher then Tanzania and Kenya GDP ppp .
Somaliland GDP was 13,4 % in 2000 but declined in the later years however I heard the livestock ban will be liftet or has it ? this will make a major impact on the economy in december the Berbera port upgraded equipment for 0,6 mill. And from the political side SL goverment is working to close the border to Djibouti so livestock may not be exported from there. ( No hard feelings I believe only business ) After all we are talking about something that could reach 60-65 percent of Somaliland GDP )

From an economic view Sool is a very interesting region in SL and I hope the dispute with Puntland will be finished. Personally I think it is very embarassing to use " clan " to demand Sool. It makes me think is this really the future of TFG and Puntland ?

At last I was surprised to read that Djibouti with its 1400 USD has the highest per capita revenue of the countries Ethiopia , Eritrea , Somalia -- .

I was fine with Somalilands independence because the union with Somalia was never legal and signed.And dont forget that Sandhurst trained SL junior officers tried to make coup to prevent the illadvised union but failed in early 60s was it in Sanaag ? I am not sure.

Today if you want real estate near the airport you have to pay 15 000 -20 UK per 100 square meters . Property in Hargeisa centrum is reaching several hundred thousands for the good areas.

I think the concept of unified SOmalis is nothing more than hypocrisy. For instance posters here on Somalinet forget about Somalia itself can't even get along between the tribes themself..the Marahaans and Ogadens are hating Hartis because they have the leadership...the Haber Gider are hating on Abgaal because they collaberated with transitional government. If they can't get along among their kin clans than how can they expect Somaliland to unite with them. Like Malcom X said about African Americans....we can't except whites until we except ourself.
