Job description: SC UK has over 40 years of experience working in Somaliland/Somalia in the areas of emergencies, education, health, water & sanitation and food security & livelihoods. SC UK is currently working in Hiran region central of Somalia. Self-declared state of Somaliland unlike the rest of Somalia provides an environment of relative peace & stability with the potential to work in partnership with a credible government administration and the regional autonomy of Puntland.

SC UK Somaliland education programme contributes to poverty reduction by improving access and quality of basic education through supporting primary and Alternative Approaches to Basic Education, helping communities run schools, training teachers, developing education policies and curricula, supporting flexible learning schemes and develop education opportunities for children caught up in emergencies.

An educationist background with experience in primary school teaching, trainer training, research methods, and successful project management, this role is both technical advisor of institutional systems development to ministry of education of Somaliland at regional/district levels as well as being an SC UK technical facilitator responsible for capacity building for national staff providing advice and technical inputs for the satisfactory implementation of primary and Alternative Approaches of Basic education project.

Degree and/or post graduate qualification in Education Studies.

Similar experience of managing primary education project with strong orientation towards strengthening community management of schools and technical support to national staff & government partner at regional and/or district level.

Proven practical experiences of training facilitation and presentation skills.

Proven practical experiences of working on a project or programme in difficult security circumstances and a politically sensitive context.

Knowledge and experience of project cycle management including stakeholder participation in project appraisal, monitoring and evaluation.

Good understanding of both development and relief issues particularly in relation to children and women.

Proven ability to undertake research and assessments at community level on issues affecting children’s education.

Good command in spoken English, Proposal & report writing skills.

Supportive personnel management style.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Assalam Aleykom my dear brother

For right now I'm in the military but when I finish insha allah I will start my bachelor and then apply for a wonderful job like that.

I love all of my Somaliland from Saylac to Las Qoray .
The people of Burao has mashallah acommplished a lot I still watch the bridge with pride and WLL insha allah visit Burao this year since I am going to SL.
