Asalamu alaikum sisters,

Nice forum. I'm new here, I hope you could help me out with a small favour.

I'm not somalian however my somali friend used to make this recipe she called "luhuh" - she made it for me a few times and I notice that it's eaten with olive oil and sugar, I loved it!!

I'm despirately searching for the recipe but have no success.

Can anyone help me please.
It looks like a thin pancake with coils, it's very thin and if you know what it is please help me out.

Thank you so much!! Jazakum Allah khair.

I'm sorry I didn't understand your reply at all.
Basically I'm just looking for a simple recipe, she told me something like flour, water, yeast maybe? And then it's a thin batter and poured on a hot griddle.

I can't seem to get it right, if anyone has the exact recipe and instructions please let me know, thank you!

hello searching4 i might be able to help you but the thing is somali people speak the same language but different dialogs so when you said lahuh i couldn't figure it out what the hell that was any ways you need all purpose flower, eggs , water and sugar. mix all that up with a mixure and ur ready to go use oil to cook with it i think you know about that part you mentioned olive oil that is fine too good luch ..........don't add too much sugar and not too little either but u will learn in time how much you need exact. good luck let me know if that is what you were looking for and if this helped

^ you gave her the wrong recipe. Poster the seceret to luhuh is called qamir this is a mixture of water, all purpose flower and a pinch of salt leave this for few days on the sun make sure its covered when little bubbles start to form and the smell gets stronger thats when its ready for use.

Ask your somali neighbours for qamir.
