SomaliNet) Around 1000 houses were reportedly to have burnt down in Bardhere town of Gedo region in southern Somalia on Thursday.
No human casualty has been reported so far but the disaster made hundreds of people homeless.
Reports say that the fire is still burning as people trying to stop the fire from spreading into new areas.
The houses went to ashes when huge fire caught the town. It is unclear what caused it.
Since the town has no firefighters, the villagers began to use buckets of water to put out the burning fire.
It is the first and biggest fire which caught Bardhere.
