Mogadishu 25, Feb.07 ( Sh.M.Network) - At least three persons were wounded in the Somalia capital Mogadishu on Sunday after government police fired several shots at a minibus.

Witnesses have told Shabelle that government police who were at a checkpoint near Mogadishu seaport stopped the minibus that was carrying Khat, a narcotic leaf commonly consumed in Somalia.
As the bus which was hijacked by other government police officers intending to steal the Khat failed to stop, it was shot several times. Three people were injured in the incident.

One of the Khad traders, Qaali, who was on the bus, has told Shabelle that the police stationed near the port wanted the bus to carry a sick policeman.

The sounds of bullets could be heard in the neighborhoods around Mogadishu seaport, witnesses said.

The acting spokesman of the transitional government, Hussein Mohammed, has told Shabelle that how the incident occurred would be investigated.
