In what is a ringing call to action Tony Blankley- Editor in chief of the Washington Times and author of "The West's Last Chance" gives us his informed prognosis of the west's dire Muslim trouble. As we like to say in our quarters- give it to 'em Tony.

The threat of the radical Islamists taking over Europe is every bit as great to the United States as was the threat of the Nazis taking over Europe in the 1940s. We cannot afford to lose Europe. We cannot afford to see Europe transformed into a launching pad for Islamist jihad. While we in the United States and Europe have vast resources for protecting ourselves, we have thought ourselves into a position of near impotence. Beyond the growing number of Muslims committed to terrorism is the threat from the Islamic diaspora's growing cultural and religious assertiveness- particularly in largely secular Europe, where Muslim cultural assimilation has not occurred.

It is beginning to dawn on Europeans that the combination of a shrinking ethnic-European population and an expanding, culturally assertive Muslim population might lead to the fall of Western civilization in Europe within a century.This phenomenon, called Eurabia, is viewed with growing fatalism both in Europe and in America. Such fatalism, however, is premature. Last November, an Islamist terrorist's butchering of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, who had made a movie revealing abuse of Muslim women, aroused deep fears in Holland and across the Continent.

The public anger, which included the burning of mosques in traditionally tolerant Holland, is evidence that the European instinct for survival has not been fully extinguished. But that survival instinct is threatened by the multiculturalism and political correctness advocated in media and academe - and institutionalized in national and European Union laws and regulations for half a century. Europe's effort at cultural tolerance since World War II slowly morphed into a surprisingly deep self-loathing of Western culture that denied the instinct for cultural and national self-defense. If Europe doesn't rise to the challenge, Eurabia will come to pass. Then Europe will cease to be an American ally and instead become a base of operations against us.

Radical currents within Islam drive some Muslims to terrorism and push others at least to a more adversarial view of their relationship to non-Muslim nations and cultures in which they live - whether in Paris, London, Hamburg, Rotterdam, or any American city.Over the past 30 years, the Muslim population in Europe expanded rapidly from a few hundred thousand to more than 20 million. Muslims there and in the United States are arguing over their role in Western societies: Should they integrate, seclude themselves, or convert the West to Islam?

Many Muslims in Europe are content to be law-abiding, culturally integrated citizens. But an increasing number feel some degree of alienation. Many are beginning to believe that they have a religious duty not to integrate. Radical Islam, sometimes accurately called Islamo-fascism, has all the "advantages" the Nazis had in Germany in the 1930s. The Islamo-fascists find a Muslim population adrift, confused and humiliated by the dominance of foreign nations and cultures. They find a large, youthful population increasingly disdainful of their parents' passive habits.

Just as the Nazis reached back to German mythology and the supposed Aryan origins of the German people, the radical Islamists reach back to the founding ideas and myths of their religious culture. And just like the Nazis, they claim to speak for authentic traditions while actually advancing expedient and radical innovations. They are forming their own Muslim consciousness from the Internet, books, videotapes and audiotapes. The Internet offers many radical Islamic "experts" and mullahs who function like Dear Abby. European Muslims pose questions on everything from whether to be polite to infidels to how to prepare for jihad. The immediate answer often is a hodgepodge of Koranic citations, quotes from ancient scholars and personal advice. Within this constantly morphing digital environment, an increasingly radical Islam is emerging in Europe. Disconnected from their homelands, isolated from their non-Muslim neighbors and fellow workers, alienated from their elders, Europe's young Muslims find a weird, disembodied, globalized radical Islam appealing.

Muslim sections of Paris, Rotterdam and other European cities already are labeled "no-go zones" for ethnic Europeans, including armed policemen. As the Muslim populations -- and their level of cultural and religious assertiveness -- expand, European geography will be "reclaimed" for Islam. Europe will become pockmarked with "little Fallujahs" that effectively will be impenetrable by anything much short of a U.S. Marine division. Not only will Islamic cultural aggression against a seemingly passive and apologetic indigenous population increase, but the zone of safety and support for the actual terrorists will expand as well.

If the current leaders of Europe do not respond to the Islamist threat boldly and effectively, the common European people might decide to defend their culture as vigilantes. In that case, Europe again will become a bloody urban battleground.This would be a temporary tragedy for liberal principles of governance, but at least would secure Europe from Muslim domination over the next half-century.The harm of a vigilante effort against the radical Islamists can be mitigated, if not avoided, if the governments themselves will lead the struggle for European cultural survival.

It should be a prime objective of American policy to encourage European governments and the European Union to lead their people in this struggle, rather than follow them.

Anywho,its just more of your nonsensical fantasy based trollop that provides dire warnings about a takeover that is physically impossible, considering the numbers, and European history. But then again, its not in your interest to look at reality, but to perpetuate this fantasy until such time as it becomes your collective reality.

If only ordinary Germans took the Nazis and Waffen-SS by the ear when it was still fledgeling and gave them the boot in the rear esel (is that right?), we'd have saved ourselves a good deal of bother don't you think?

To compound it all- though hardly neccesary for repugnant fascists will be facists from which ever cloth they're cut religious or otherwise- the mussulmans don't even have historical roots.

These things look darn near predictable and unstoppable in hindsight, but it is really hard in reality to predict what the future is going to bring.

BTW, I think Islam has plenty of historical roots.

You'd be hard pressed to convince a soul these North African and Asian Muslim immigrants stoking up hostility are indigenous to the land. Race however, is not the critical issue.

On a related note, have you read the recent report coming out from the UK to the effect 50% of UK Muslims surveyed want the imposition of sharia?

The ticking demographic time bomb doesn't seem so nonsensical to the English, 40% of whose Muslim population (second generation) want sharia. Or the French whose Muzzie troubles have catapulted the popularity of hitherto despied neo-fascist Le Pen. Nor for that matter the Dutch, the murder of whose celebrated filmmaker Theo Van Goph by Islamists have moved to tighten their immigration policy. The same is true for Austria whose governing coalition is now comprised of the far right.

The signs of a shifting political tide are all evident. Follow the traffic.

Muslims are on the whole law-abiding, only if you ignore that a significant segment condones Islamic terror, and is nevertheless of little consequence if they're not reconciled to liberal democracy, which as the scenes of the Danish controversy so vividly illustrated they're most certainly not. The question for the west is, do we want in our midst an alien culture quite willing to kill over some stupid caricatures- whose numbers are set to double in generations hence? A people who have quite openly pronounced they're intentions to subjugate the west?

If 40% do, then 60% don't. Those numbers will continue to slide toward the don't as time goes on, because those generations who grow up in Europe will become less and less Muslim, more and more secular.

I remember when I came to Germany in 85, the Turkish girls would not even talk to us. Only the smallest percentage would have anything to do with Germans or Americans. They were considered taboo. Now my Turkish dance partners father thinks we should get married!!!!!

Have you read nothing of the surveys or Literature? Quite the opposite is true. Whilst only 17% of those over 50, i.e. first generation immigrants, want imposition of sharia. That figure jumps to 40% with regard to born, bred and western educated second generation Muslims. Western born Muslims, as shown time and again by polls, are more inclined to radical Islam than their parents ever were.

Your Turkish girlfriend may well be assimilated, 40% of her Muslim brethern however are not. There's no reason to suspect that'll change.

It will most certainly change. Assimilation is inevitable. Happens EVERY TIME any group immigrates anywhere. Sometimes it takes a while, sometimes not, but it is natures law. It is irrestible.

Right now we have a small blip in Europe because Muslims living here feel they are being excluded (which to a degree is true) and are resentful and therefore embracing their cultural identity. But this will pass. There will be increasing inter-marriage, cultural exposure, and slowly the walls come down and the ghettos evaporate. It's natures law. Even were it to take 200 years, it will happen.

The trouble too often with liberals, MAD MAC dearest, is you're disarmed by your own credulousness against a primal force like Islam. Conservatives take people at their word: when al-Qaeda says they want war, we give it to 'em; when Iran says they want nukes - we give it to 'em (or should at any rate).

The message is really quite clear: bite and we'll bite back- with twice the venom.

The same maxim is true for the west generally. When 40% of the Islamist population declares their sincere intentions to take apart our civilization, we take them at face value. We just can't afford not to in a post 9/11 world.

As the old adage goes:

I don't think I could reasonably be described as a liberal. The bottom line is, the VAST MAJORITY of Muslims living in Europe are law abiding citizens who worry about paying their bills, going to work, raising their families. Only a very few are sitting around plotting how to bring Shari'a to the west.

For the upteenth time, it's neither about law abidance, nor Jihad (for the moment anyhow), it's about demography.

A handful cell of scheming terrorists lamenting the loss of Andalusia and with it that most favorite Islamist pass time of stoning adulteress women, is a "few". Forty percent is not. We're dealing with whole Muslim populations, not a few AQ boys. The challenge for the west is how to, in light of declining fertility rates, preserve our civilization founded upon liberal pluralist democracy against the onslaught of a fecund alien culture.

"The Muslim faith," says one astute analyst, "whatever its merits for the believers, is a problematic business for the rest of us. There are many trouble spots around the world, but as a general rule, it's easy to make an educated guess at one of the participants: Muslims vs. Jews in "Palestine," Muslims vs. Hindus in Kashmir, Muslims vs. Christians in Africa, Muslims vs. Buddhists in Thailand, Muslims vs. Russians in the Caucasus, Muslims vs. backpacking tourists in Bali. Like the environmentalists, these guys think globally but act locally."

I am less concerned about the demograghics because in three generations they will cease to be real Muslims.

Obviously, the fact that Muslims have a collective chip on their shoulders and are in conflict with everyone around them is more of an issue. No argument there. But let's not overstate it.
