UPDATE: Just Got Off The Phone Relatives in Mogadishu!

Just spoke to my relatives in Mogadishu, Madina district. They told me that the city is calm this morning, but they hear gun shots in the distance. All night last night, they said they heard the shelling of Villa Somalia & other camps that house the Ethiopians. They also told me that the Somali fighters are mostly HG, but there are others fighting alongside them including some Daarood men who supported the ICU.

Also, there are reports that the Somali rebels have entered Stadium Mogadishu & there is a heavy fighting inside the Stadium.

Has there been any serious fighting in Medina? Particularly near the market on Jalle Siad Road? I have a friend who lives there. Haven't heard from him in a while.
