Fairweather Patriots

A new breed of players have appeared on the horizon to take advantage of the war in Mogadishu. These are the fairweather noveau 'patriots' that did everything in their power to rally against Somali unity and advocate for the dismemberment of The Somali Republic. Foremeost and leading champoin of the fairweather 'patriots' is none other that the bufoon known as Faysal Cali Waraabe, who famously stated that a boy born in Ethiopia was a closer kin to him than a boy born in Mogadishu. Now this buffoon and a legion of other politial opportunists are hiding under the guise of a new and suddenly found 'patriotism' to speak about Somali issues and in the process exploit the war in Mogadhisu for their own parochial ends.

Fellas, patriotism is not a one issue paradigm. Only those with myopic outlook think that it is.

Faysal is a lame political opportunist. The fact that his is married to a southern women is irrelevant UNLESS she is Hawiye, which then proves his opportunisitc tendency to exploit the occassion and SUDDENLY after 17 long year present himself as some-one who is concerned about Somalia. Maybe he was waiting for an opportunity to come in from the cold and Ethiopia is providing him the pretext he needs since we all know Somaliland as a separate regonized country is a pipe dream.
