The Somali Diraac iyo Macawiis

Post by Lil_Cutie.. »

How comfortable do you feel in them?.. (Ok I am assuming Diraac for the Girls & Macawis for the Guys-Plz don't tell us what you do in private when no one is looking Smile !!)..

Do you feel comfortable in them so much so that you would wear it out?
Or-is it strictly in the house and when visiters come round it's quick change?
Or-do you wear it day in day out and couldn't live without it?
Or-do you wear it to sleep only?

I have to give credit to Asian's they rock thier cultural dress everywhere, to work, uni, shopping etc.etc.etc.. up

Lil Cutie,

I wear my macawis every day when at home.

Once left my books in class and walked from the dorm in it to the astonishment of the campus folk Laughing But I didn't give a fock Laughing

Back home I used to wear my macawis everywhere but it was difficult driving stick shift with one.

Laughing

"difficult driving stick shift with one."

Yaa?

I have to credit you aswell then A/W for your bravery. Lool.
I remember when I first went to Somalia the area I stayed had alot of people from the UK/US/UAE and as it is the 'norm' to wear dirac/sheed iyo macawisda in Somalia these kids had to try to adjust to the culture to 'fit in' (otherwise they would have to deal with some serious kharbash)..and the sight is one for sore eyes. Especially the guy's wearing the Macawis for the first time. Comedy.

Macawis is the nastiest thing a guy could ever wear. Shocked

Both Somali and Indian men need to be beat if they wear that around.

The typical Somali male dress in Somalia is:

Shirt, Macawiis, and the cheap white dacas.

I didn't care because I wasn't there to impress anyone

Noooooooo one boy from the UAE was wearing a hoodie (it was late), Macawis and his Timberland boots.Lool. When I asked what is up with the combination-are you having Identity crisis or just a wardorbe malfunction?..He said, the hoodie is to keep me warm and because I am 'much bigger than them-it covers me because I get dissed for my size', and the boots is to help me walk with the bumpy roads.Looooool.

Okay..

I don't mean to sound perverse but I feel when Somali men wear it, that they have on no boxers or briefs and are taking in the air. (throws up).
