The flag was created by Mohamed Awale Libaan. He created the flag after the 5 regions of Somali people. The colour is a gesture of respect towards the Un flag. So check the UN flag and thats the right colour. Basically Sky blue.

I like the sky blue color better but why do people always wave the dark blue?
