A former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, has been identified as the father of Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's seven-month-old daughter Dannielynn, after DNA test results were released by a Bahamas court.

"I hate to be the one to tell you this but I told you so. I'm the father," Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, told reporters and sightseers outside the court in Nassau.

"My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon."

The buxom blonde's death in a Florida casino hotel on February 8 touched off a storm as various people fought over her body and also over her baby.

The child could one day be worth a fortune if Smith's estate wins a decade-long battle to inherit from a former oil tycoon husband.
