When the Prophet(saw) Walked past a grave :(
Assalamu Alaikum
Check out this Hadith--It really got me thinking & I wanted to share it, reflect on it.InshaAllah
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: the Prophet once passed by two graves and said, "these two persons are being tortured not for a major sin (to avoid). One of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other used to go about with calumnies(to make enmity between friends)." the Prophet then took a green leaf of a date-palm tree, split it into (pieces) and fixed one on each grave. they said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you done so?" He replied, "I hope that their punishment might be lessened till these (the pieces of the leaf) become dry." (See the foot-note of Hadith 215). (Bukhari Book #4, Hadith #217)

I live not that far away from a major grave yard and just by seeing rows and rows of graves makes you think about aakhira,

Re: When the Prophet(saw) Walked past a grave :(
SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE PUNISHMENT OF THE GRAVES LIKE OUR PROPHET (SAW) USED TO;
Narrated Masruq: 'Aisha said that a Jewess came to her and mentioned the punishment in the grave, saying to her, "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave." 'Aisha then asked Allah's Apostle about the punishment of the grave. He said, "Yes, (there is) punishment in the grave." 'Aisha added, "After that I never saw Allah's Apostle but seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave in every prayer he prayed."
INSHA'ALLAH
Narrated Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle used to invoke (Allah): "Allahumma ini a'udhu bika min 'adhabi-l-Qabr, wa min 'adhabi-nnar, wa min fitnati-l-mahya wa-lmamat, wa min fitnati-l-masih ad-dajjal. (O Allah! I seek refuge with you from the punishment in the grave and from the punishment in the Hell fire and from the afflictions of life and death, and the afflictions of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal." (Book #23, Hadith #459)

Cutie, thanks for sharing this, it really makes you think about it. I hate going to graves but I go to my granpma and dad's (AUN) graves to pray for them. I have seen an empty grave ready for someone, wallahi it brought tears to my eyes just looking at it.
