MISSION ACCOMPLISHED IN MOGDISHU DOWLADIID ARE DEFEATED!!!

(SomaliNet) Somalia’s interim Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi said Thursday most of the fighting in the capital with the insurgents has been accomplished and the stability will be restored to normalcy – this claim is severe blow to the Islamist supporters.

In a news conference held today in Mogadishu, Mr. Gedi said government’s forces along with the Ethiopian soldiers succeeded over the eight-day fighting with the remnants of the ousted Islamists.

“I urge all Somalis to get prepared and return into their homes from tomorrow. The insurgents were defeated and the government troops are now establishing the security,” said Gedi expressing deep sorrow over the civilian casualty.

The Ethiopian forces are said to have used excessive force against the insurgents who retreated from the battle areas.

Witnesses told Somalinet the local fighters have been defeated in a huge attack launched by the allied forces of Ethiopia and Somalia.

Dead bodies of several insurgents were laid on the ground in Huriwaa and Yaqshid neighborhoods where the heaviest fighting happened last night since this morning.

“Today the government troops are now searching for weapons and tracking down the remaining insurgents still hiding in the houses in the north of the capital,” added Gedi.

Premier Gedi demanded the non-fighting people who hold weapons to remain indoors and wait for registration.

Meanwhile, despite the Ethiopian forces took over most of the insurgent strongholds, sporadic fighting is continuing in parts of the capital for the eighth day.

The deafening sound of artillery shells could be heard throughout the city as people continue to flee their homes in north of Mogadishu to escape the shelling.
