(SomaliNet) At least 11 people were killed and 19 injured in central Egypt amidst a head-on collision between a minibus and a truck, police officials said at the end of last week.
The crash took place early on Friday in the province of el-Minya south of Cairo, the officials said.
Meanwhile, reckless driving, lax traffic rules and poor road conditions lead to a high accident toll in Egypt.
A series of crashes in the past few years caused a public outcry over the government\'s record of road and transport safety. A new traffic code with harsher punishments for law breakers came into effect on Friday.-Reuters
