(SomaliNet) Ahead of the execution of three of the perpetrators of the 2002 Bali bomb attacks in Indonesia, there is increasing unrest.
After receiving a text message threatening attacks on the US and Australian embassies in Jakarta, Indonesian police have launched an immediate investigation.
The two embassies have been warned about the possibility of attacks as soon as the executions are carried out. On Monday, a threat to blow up a Jakarta shopping centre turned out to be false.
Militant sympathisers have gathered in the hometown of two of the convicts to protest against their impending execution. The Indonesian authorities have announced that the three convicts will be executed this month, but did not specifiy a date.
The attacks on two discotheques on the island of Bali claimed the lives of 202 people, including 160 foreign tourists.-RNW
