Alcohol powered bicycle launched in Uganda

(SomaliNet) WARAGI, a local potent gin, does not only make the consumers drunk. It can also serve as a cheap source of fuel.

The unique 50CC engine bicycle was yesterday launched and uses local waragi mixed with petrol to power an ordinary bicycle.

The engine is the first of its kind in the country and enables the bicycle to move without the cyclist peddling.

The engine costs about $ 200 and has a capacity of two litres and it is ideal for both rural and urban users.

.The bicycle has an accelerator like that of a motorcycle and uses the normal bicycle rubber braking system in addition to two chains that pull the behind wheel. –New Vision
