(SomaliNet) According to a statement from the Ghanaian presidency, head of the African Union, Kenya\'s feuding political leaders agreed on Thursday to an immediate cessation of violence and \"any acts which may be detrimental to finding a peaceful solution\" to the country\'s post-election crisis.
Meanwhile, former UN secretary general Kofi Annan is to take over mediation efforts to lift Kenya out of its political turmoil, the Ghanaian presidency, current head of the African Union, said on Thursday.
\"The parties agreed to work together with a Panel of Eminent African Personalities headed by Mr Kofi Annan... towards resolving their differences and all other outstanding issues,\" the statement said. - Sapa-AFP
