Uganda: 17-yr-old girl gang-raped, murdered

(SomaliNet) A 17-year-old girl, a Senior Six student of Nnalinya Lwantale Secondary School in Ndejje, Luweero district in Uganda , had gone to the area to attend a friend’s introduction ceremony on Sunday.

Bernardette Nantongo Ssenyama’s body was found in a banana plantation about 100-meters away from the introduction venue on Monday morning. Most of her limbs were broken, she had scratches on her neck.

The blue jean trouser she was wearing was torn and there were several used condoms, attesting to gang-defilement.

Some of her intestines and the uterus were protruding. Residents said Nantongo was one of the urshers during the ceremony.

After the guests left, the residents were treated to a disco, which run till morning.

Nantongo’s aunt, Harriet Nabukenya, said she asked her for sh1,000 at about 9:00pm to pay for a photograph, which she took in a gomesi (traditional dress) before she changed into the jean trousers, T-shirt and canvass shoes for the disco.

Nabukenya said that was the last time she saw her alive.-New Vision
