(SomaliNet) The death toll from the rubble of a collapsed three-storey building in the Ugandan capital has reached 10 as rescuers recovered another body from scene, police said on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Gabriel Tibayungwa said workers were still working to rescue others trapped under the wreckage.
\"We can see that two are trapped. They look alive but are still under the rubble.
\"By night-time when we stopped work for the day, the death toll was 10,\" he added. \"One person has just been rescued now.\"
The building, which had been under construction, caved in on Wednesday, trapping an unknown number of people and injuring others.
The building, in Nalya, near a secondary school, had been intended for use as a hostel for schoolchildren. - Sapa-AFP
