Uganda\'s security services placed on high alert

(SomaliNet) After recent threats stemming from the country\'s involvement in the African peacekeeping mission in Somalia,Uganda\'s security services have been placed on high alert.

\"Our … peacekeeping operations have made some characters there unhappy,\" said Kale Kayihura, Uganda\'s police chief.

Ugandan peacekeepers in Somalia have come under intense criticism for responding to insurgent mortar attacks with heavy shelling of densely populated areas in the Somali capital, killing dozens of civilians.
