(SomaliNet) The UN/African Union (Unamid) has said an unarmed Ugandan policeman working for international peacekeeping forces in Sudan\'s Darfur region has been shot dead, the Unamid force said.
Inspector John Kennedy Okecha was killed in “cold blooded murder”, the UN/African Union (Unamid) troops said in a statement.
Spokesman Nouredding Mezni said on Thursday that Okecha’s body was found in his car on Wednesday near a market in north Darfur. He had been shot several times.
Ugandan police said Okecha was ambushed on his way back to his base at the airport in El Fasher in northern Darfur.
None of Okecha\'s belongings were taken from his car, Mezni said. An investigation is under way. -Agencies
