Somalia: 5 killed in southern Somalia

(SomaliNet) According to a Somali government official, at least 5 people were killed in southern Somalia after Ethiopians forces and TFG troops chased Somali insurgents in an early morning attack in the horn of Africa nation.

A report said the armed forces made a violence attack to the southern districts of the regions Bay and Bakol.

The skirmishes killed three of the insurgents and also two soldiers were killed. But Military spokesmen said 7 insurgents had been killed, nevertheless the calm is still unknown.

Meanwhile, insurgent’s fighters already forced TFG soldiers and their administration to move away from a many towns of the south and central Somalia after battle sent civilians escaped from government operations.

“Today we are homeless, shelterless and without education for our children,\" said Muno Dahir one the residents of Berdale Town.

Muno said she had fled with four of her six children, and an extended family of 10. She opposes the government, she said, and along the way asked for protection at a government compounds but was told it was for government officials only.

Many details of the incident remain unclear, including the number of ground troops and vehicles involved, and whether Ethiopian troops were among those that left the vehicles and conducted a ground operation in the towns.

In the next confrontation, Somali military which took of Wajid town killed a UN local security worker. Eyewitness said the forces opened fire on the security men at an airport run by means of the United Nations Humanitarian sky Service (UNHAS) and they wounded five guards.

The UN employees pulled out some area of the regions of Bakol and Bay for the sake of insecurity.

In the meantime Ethiopian troops heading towards Mogadishu came under attacks from the insurgents near between Yagbari-wayne and Lego of the lower shabelle Region. Details the and casualties are still unclear.
