Somalia: Eight killed in battles, explosions in Somalia

(SomaliNet) At least 8 people were killed amidst violence in parts of southern Somalia on Sunday as the Somalia’s interim government and an opposition group signed a historic peace agreement, a source said.

Meanwhile, two police officers were killed in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, when a hidden landmine exploded at an intersection, according to witnesses in Yaaqshiid district.

One witness reported seeing wounded civilians, but he could not confirm a number.
