“In the first instant I heard the sounds of sequence of mortars, and then followed by what seemed to be face-to-face crossfire shortly after a mortar which seemed to fired from the Ethiopian military base hit in to my neighbors house and killed 4 of the family members and wounding to others” said Khlaif a resident in the area speaking to Somaliweyn radio.

The Ethiopian troops arrived in Somalia militarily backing the flimsy government of Somalia.

It was the Ethiopian troop that has uprooted the Islamic Courts Union which was in control of south and central Somalia for 6 goods months.

There is immense enmity between Somalia and Ethiopia, and this came after deadly battle occurred between the two countries which are geographically neighbors in early 1977, in the battle the Somali government soldiers were almost to conquer the capital Addis Ababa, but Ethiopia was salvaged by the USSR. –Somaliweyn
