(SomaliNet) Eighteen people died when the plane they were travelling in crashed on landing at the airstrip in Lukla in eastern Nepal. The Twin Otter plane, owned by Yeti Airlines, was travelling from Kathmandu.
Initial reports say it caught fire after crash-landing and striking the perimeter boundary. The pilot of the plane survived. Everyone else on board, many of whom were German tourists, was killed.-RNW
