(SomaliNet) The 15 athletes who went missing when high winds and torrential rains caused flooding in the Lake District in the northwest of England have been found.
Almost 2,500 runners took part in the two-day Original Mountain Marathon, which began on Saturday.
But the event was called off on the same day when hundreds of participants were stranded by bad weather in the mountainous region. Many took shelter in farms and mines, while almost 1,700 others camped out.
Rescue workers say more than 20 runners have been injured and that 12 have been admitted to hospital with hypothermia.-RNW
