North Dakota: The Promised Land
I have been listening to Market Place on NPR, There has been a series on North Dakota, the state with the lowest unemployment rate 3.1% compared to the average 8%. There is a massive oil boom there and a lot of unfilled jobs. People are flocking there and I am surprised to find out there is a substantial Somali community in ND. The only person I knew was a former classmate who went to Dickinson State Univ in the mid 90s.
So has anyone been there ? How is it living in ND ? How are the crackers ?

ninyahoow, somali people are the biggest liars ever. Recently I ran into this dude that left my city abruptly. I know why he left tho, he left bc his sister was just going around too much and he got embarrassed too many times(he would walk into a shisha spot only to see his sister sitting with a dude)...In anyrate, this dude goes on to tell me that for the past 3 years he been in Alaska. It is true he was in Alaska but the following revelation by him almost made me laugh on his face. He went on to say that he works with environmental state agency of Alaska. How the hell you gona end up working in that department when you never even got a high school diploma from the U.S. (dude got here like 7 years ago straight from the motherland). What I later was told was that nigga works as a fisherman. War baanta ha loo tariibiyo.

FAH,
Dude nothing beats taking a job in a boring or focked up place that pays well. Do it for 2 years, cash out and bounce man. I wouldn't mind doing a 2 year bid in Afghanistan and returning back to Hyattsville and settling down for good.

FAh1223,
Yep, DC rocks ! I noticed that the dumbest, racist Americans join the army.
Menace,
What did he do ? Splash it around ?
Sometimes you need to destress after being couped up in a small area with limited interactions outside. The hard part is passing the time. And getting quality entertainment and if you are a guy, its hard to get low hassle, disease free poontang. I made a point of leaving the field every 6 weeks and making sure that the time I had off was spent on eating great rich food, going to clubs, hanging out with my friends, downloading and buying movies and of course looking for chicks. You can get some poontang but beware of focking someone you will be working with or seeing every day. Too much drama.
At the end of the day, money is great but it will cost you. You may lose some of your happiness, humanity, fock around and get injured on duty (5 guys I knew got killed), or worse of all die. Which is why i recommend that you always have an exit plan, triggers on when to quit and what to do with your loot.
