Yes I saw the entire thread someone made about that. One Group is secular & maintains their religious & cultural customs while adopting to western society to a degree. The 2nd group also maintains their religious & customs but to the extremes & despises every thing non-Islamic & non-Somali. The 3rd group many who have been born or raised in western countries tend to be very liberal with little focus on (Somali cultural or religion) if any for that matter.

One missing factor that is confounding the issue is where people were born/raised i.e. urban city dwellers vs nomads or farmers. We may have the same language/religion, however there will be a disconnect among the groups. People who would have never been in the same circles back in Somalia, are now forced to live together and lumped together as a monolithic entity that is expected to practice group think.

Thanks for the valid,objective & practical in-put "qualities" which some other members grossly lack. I thought that this topic would draw a serious debate.But as you can see I received random conjecture,assumptions & off topic deviations such as what someone believed my gender is. But yes there are many deferring factors that influence a person towards one of the 3 sub groups I mentioned.
