Keyblade is a Villa fan though
Re: The Premier League Thread
What a weekend. I don't know why goal keepers tend to put on a performance of a lifetime against spurs. First Cardiff and now Newcastle.
Despite the loss I am still very confident, Avb is starting to get his first 11 right. The chances we created ANC the passing was good. Watch what we do to City and United.

Tim Krul is a quality goalie, it's not the first time he's put on such a display. What's up with Lamela? Has he played full half yet?CaliBurco wrote:What a weekend. I don't know why goal keepers tend to put on a performance of a lifetime against spurs. First Cardiff and now Newcastle.

Re: The Premier League Thread
Lamela is being molded into the team slowly. After his impressive first start in our last Europa league match, Avb decided to bench him for whatever reason for the Newcastle game. This I don't understand myself.
As for Tim Krul, he's a good keeper but this was the first time he pulled of such a performance. The most saves in a premier league match since records began in 2006 they said.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Re: The Premier League Thread
It's mid-November. Lamela should be up and running by now, not being thrusted into some shitty Europa League games against some second rate Euro sides. The boy cost a fortune. Soldado looks like a lost child sometimes.CaliBurco wrote:Lamela is being molded into the team slowly. I like AVB but walahi he worries me a little. I want him to succeed so badly but I feel his whole Spurs project will end in tears. I'm no Spurs fan, but I like AVB. I hope he does well.
The Spurs team should be
Lloris
Walker - Dawson - Chiricheș - Vertonghen
Capoue - Sandro
Townsend - Dembele - Eriksen/Sigurðsson
Soldado
Re: The Premier League Thread
I don't understand how AVB can play Dembele, one of the trickiest player in the league, as a defensive mid
Push him forward and shift Eriksen to the left like Beenaale said.

Re: The Premier League Thread
Still think Dempsey was useful for Spurs. He played well in big matches and i still remember his match-winning performance against us.

^ Dempsey was a useful player, but I dont thin Spurs need him tbh. They got Eriksen and Sigurdsson, who are younger and more efficient. I like Sigurdsson, very underrated guy.
AVB just need to sort it out. Colonel is right. Playing Dembele as a DM is a waste. He's got a bag of skills and creativity, but instead of playing further up AVB is playing him next to Sandro.

Re: The Premier League Thread
This is why Spurs will never catch Arsenal. Every time they think they gonna catch Arsenal, Arsenal just sneakily troll them like

Re: The Premier League Thread
Dembele uses to play as a DM for Fulham after starting as a attacking midfielder.
We tried to play him in that role for the first few games this season where he tends to get lost as it gets to conjested in that area. He played absolutely rubbish.
Lamela should be up and running, you're right but unfortunately he hasn't been given enough game time.
As for your formation, Vertonghen can't be a permanent left back. Although he played in that position before his natural position is as a centre back. A pairing with Kaboul who is injury prone or Chiriches is what I prefer, never been a fan of Dawson to be honest.
As for Soldado, he seems lazy sometimes but I don't blame. He's probably surprised at the 'wingers' cutting inside and shooting constantly instead of putting in crosses, especially Townsend. It would make more sense for a left footed winger to play on the left in our case.
My preferred 11:
-Loris-
Walker, Vertonghen(Kaboul or Chiriches), Rose
Sandro, Capoue (or Paulinho who is more of a goal thread)
Lamela, Townsend
Eriksen
Soldado
Eriksen can be interchanged with Holtby depending on opponents. Against Man City it has to be Holtby.
