I had a Sri Lankan classmate who failed a standardized government test during high school because he didn't write his full name. He shortened it considerably. He had no choice cause there were not enough letter blocks to fill his name. They basically said you didn't write the test and he got a zero. The teacher tried to solve the situation but it was out of her hands because its the govt that marks them and results are final. And these standardized tests don't get marked for literally months since its done like 8 hours away and their marking hundreds of thousands of them. He had to take a full semester course (intended for those with poor educational skills) to make up for that "failure". The govt had an extra test who "officially" didn't know who it belonged to but unofficially knew it belonged to him
I guess protocol had to be followed but those letter blocks are discriminatory towards the Sri Lankans. It wasn't even his fault
