Sawa'iq Ilaahiya , fi Radd 'alal Wahhabiya by Imam Sulaiman ibn Abdal Wahhab
Anyone read this book? It's been translated into english by Hajj Abu Ja'far Al-Hanbali. It is a kitab directed at the Wahhabiyya authored by the brother of Muhammad ibn Abdal Wahhab, I read extracts and listened to a class based on it.

So why do you read these obscure ancient Arab books? Quite unusual for a young man.

Why? because there is a growing influx of youth turning to this school of Islam that originates in 18-19th century Arabia. So, in order to understand it, it's best to read from the books written in that era.
P.S, 19th century is hardly ancient!

Damn, props to you. I would never be able to do that.
For example, when I have to look up information on 16th-to-19th century Western philosophers I prefer to read works by modern people (20th-21st century) who summarized their main points rather than go to a direct source since the way people write has changed so much.

From what I heard from the audio class in 1819 the Ottomans destroyed the first saudi state and captured 200 saudis and wahhabi arabs, executing them all in Istanbul in a mass grave, and they were not prayed upon by any Muslim. The 'ulema say this is a sign of the cursed.
