My great grandfather was not a member of the darawiish, matter of fact he used to steal the cattle the Sayyids forces plundered from the ppl. Once he was captured and 2 marexaans were ordered to execute him. They couldnt kill a fellow marexaan, so they took him to a field and told him to run, they would fire shots in the air and cry 'He escaped!!'.
It obviously worked, else i wouldn't be here typing!
My mother's maternal grandfather (Bah Darandoole) used to suffer from the raids of the Darawiish in Berbera. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Was your father alone, when he was stealing from them or was he with other Mareexaans?

Thanks for the welcome Warsame, about my great grandfather, i'm not sure, my uncle merely mentioned he used to rob the sayyid's stolen cattle while he was talking about something else. It is probably worth it to find out more, it would be interesting to see how deep the split in our clan was with regards to the Sayyid.

Waceys, my subclan supported the Sayid and lost so many men wallahi. We even got a nickname, which I will not post here, from those days.
That Sarkaal is probably Senators traitor father.
