Even with 20+ years of civil war, Xamar is still a buzzing metro and better looking than any dusty clan city. Not sure how one would expect a city that has been the epicenter of wars for two decades to look like, but I'd say it's doing pretty well for itself. Muqdisho residents are some of the most resilient, persevering, optimistic and hardworking Somalis out there. Give credit where it's due. This business of blind clan loyalty is not only primitive, it's downright retarded.
