Much of the split of Isaaq at subclan level is news to me, I had been peaking at the infamous spreadsheet every now and then in hopes of it being updated but it seems like that is an abandoned project. On it I could see Isaaq as predominantly E-V32 with a single HY result that was T hence my reluctance to file GX under HG-T. It seems you are more up to date with members' results here on the forum, do you keep a tally of published results on Somalinet? How about Dir results? Any discernible trends you could point to?
Bro, several folk got tested during the first DNA craze on Somalinet around six years ago, the OP was one of them along with other Garxajis and Habar Awal (Abokoor Sacad) members. Not all results were shared on the main but a quick exchange with LH, Sahan-Galbeed, Siciid, Skippa and other Snet old timers will confirm what I have told you. More recently, you have had Lancer (E1b1b), CasualFarah (T), Jugjugwacwac (T), Kiddmo (T). If you combine those who took the test in the first craze and the more recent round of tests, one will notice a trend developing like I highlighted in my previous post. Habar Jeclo are a mystery to me, I have been informed that both E1b1b and T haplogroup carriers can be found among them on 23andme but it is hard to notice a trend if you do not possess their subclan info.
Another method of obtaining data is to ask people on 23andme what the clan identities of their DNA relatives are and their HG. For instance, I was able to find out thanks to CasualFarah and Itrah that you have Habar Awal haplogroup T carriers. Nonetheless, I am not in the league of Awale when it comes to gathering data. To call me an amateur would be an exaggeration and an insult to him, I am too lazy to keep a log lol.
As for Dir results, one has to be specific. Only Djiboutians and to a lesser extent Dire Dawans have been academically tested. They were found to be overwhelmingly HG-T. Nonetheless, were the people sampled in Dire Dawa from all Ciise subclans? Were Gurguras also tested? How many Samaroon or Habar Awal were included in the Djiboutian sample? You will never run out of questions lol. On 23andme, several people have stated that apart from the Isaaq, their other HG-T relatives are either Samaroon, Ciise, Surre Dirs. However, that is not sufficient to assume with confidence that Dir are overwhelmingly haplogroup T because Biimal, Gurre, Quranyow, Gurgura, Bajimal etc have not been tested. I can say with relative certainty that my Surre subclan appears to be mainly haplogroup T but I cannot say the same for other Southern Dir subclans.
