lol Somalis need to step up their game and get wedding registries. Even the most fobbish brown people have them nowadays. So the bride/groom actually get what they want.

When it comes to weddings, gift cards aren't just practical, they're thoughtful. Ur cuz is gonna get a hodgepodge of unmatching linen, decorations, macuun, get her a gift card to a department stores where she can use it for anything from decorations, vacuums, appliances, lingerie, electronics or clothing.

Kitchen appliances and a apron that states "get in the kitchen woman"

? A nice banquet hall charges by plate (each person's meal 3/4 courses costs like 150 bucks). It's proper etiquette the buy something off a wedding registry that costs about that much or a little more. They're paying for you to have a nice meal the least you can do is pay for a household item they want.greenday wrote:I never how you can ask for a giftSealion wrote:lol Somalis need to step up their game and get wedding registries. In certain cultures they do that, Most of the ppl do bring envelopes containing money, well the amount varies but at the end of the day it covers part of the wedding cost.

Gift cards are not in any way thoughtful. If you're concerned about their money issues and how they will spend it, give em an envelop of cash. Then again, I did that once, and it was handed back to me.
Beans, you're only bet on getting a great gift will have to be how well you know you cousin.

I think it depends on how formal the wedding is. Sometimes a registry might come off more as arrogant rather than practical. I think the problem starts with spending 15k on a wedding.Sealion wrote:? Wedding tend to get astronomical when people you don't know crash your wedding. You can have a small nicely done wedding for like 10K if you don't want spend a lot. If you get a venue with security and a guest list. My invites are going to clearly state you and plus one. If you don't heed my invite you and your extras are going to be turned away at the door.

For female relatives and friends, I'd get them either perfume or lingerie (except for my brother's wife
). For male relatives, I'd give them cologne.
