liqaye, what about the ordinary people? are they as obsessed with recognition as the diaspora?

Puntland is wealthier than Somaliland both financially as in natural resources. Plus we have better relationships with the International community, Ethiopia and the USA.
Though the piracy crap is kinda screwing things up now, but still it is easier for Puntland to get recognized before Somaliland if our leaders stand behind it.

Dawwa, you're getting carried away here. Somaliland is ahead of us in terms of politics with the international community.
We are not wealthier than Somaliland financially, but comparable. But in natural resources and future economic prospect, we beat them! Puntland has a faster growing economy and they're feeling it. Bossasso's existance is damaging for Somaliland's economy.

Tog Walaale being ' half recognised ' as part of Ethiopia and partly Somaliland is another major town in the far west and revenue maker.
Somaliland is the big brother of Puntland no doubt its just ridiculous to compare..
SL also holds the worlds largest reserves of gypsum and we do have fair share oil both offshore and onshore potentially nothing proven just like puntland

Dawwa if that was the case we would't be chasing you around sool. Your not richer then somaliland, Bossaso is not better then Hargiesa no matter what you say. The problem with somaliland is the miss management of assets and lack of direction.dawwa9 wrote:GENERAL_SNM wrote: Dawwa your missing the point, its not that people dont want independence, its just it will never happen. As for national Puntland natural resources, if they can sell electricity by building solar panels in the hot bari heat because thats the only thing natural resource available in Puntland. Oil, I believe what my eyes see and not what my ears here, thats could remorse.
If Puntland was so good as you say Dawwa, you would not be wasting money and resources on AY adventure on Xammer.
Re: Bosaso International Airport
All Isaaq business people loved Puntland and disliked their own country that is all I will tell you.
Berbera is a small port with only 1 or 2 ships a week even though it looks professional. Bosaso 20 ships per DAY. Sometimes it is too full when they arrive at the same time and you will always see ships wondering around near Bosaso waiting till their is room at the port.
Puntland is richer than Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman etc if you look at natural resources. Only matter of time before it will be sold..

Dawwa Berbera was built by the old regime with national assets to surf the nation, so how you can compare Bossaso to it is beyond me. People are using Bossaso because of mismangement, and not because it looks better or bigger.
