Waryaa/Naayaa just can't do it. We'll have to invent a new one or keep using fadlan.

:lol:

I will not be suprised if it becomes norm in Somali circles within a short period.

All you have to do is go to Somalis near you and say halmad furahaa ii dhiib

They will ask halmad waa maxay? You tell them it means fadlan. They will ask oo waa afmaa? Convince them it's a Somali word halkaas iyo kismayo ayaa laga isticmalaayo waa afsomaali sax ah n it's as good as any other Somali word within a short span

mmm..
Actually, there are some contemporary somali words as well as old words for some of the words above:

Cisbital= the Germans call it Krankenhaus; Swedish= Sjukhus ; lit the house of the sick. The somali word (old) is xarunta/rugta dabiibka. There is a somali word for dispensary/healthcentre= Rug caafimaad So Rug(ta) caafimaad could also be used for a hospital

Download= dhaamin ; you know like fetching water

Save= keyd

Loan = Deeyn/amaah

Husband = Seyga

School = Dugsi

Wife = Xaas (this could also be used for a couple)

Sex/gender= Jinsi

Website = Malko ( compare with the river bank where animals/ppl get water)

Exercise =Layli

On this site you will find the school (primary and high school) curricula in Somali.

It has almost all the books that were used in Somali schools.
