Somalis/Black people can't swim?!

Today a friend of mine ask the question: "Why is it that black People In general can't swim?" And I asked him to provide evidences. And He said/ask the questions " Sabriye can you swim? Do you know how to swim?" And I said "NO". And He said "Sabriye what more evidences do you need? And I said "Come on man! provide more evidences". And He said "What Evidence Do You Need To See? OK. list the people in your family and Somalis friends that can Swim properly. And Tell me tomorrow". So I tried to list the people and do little investigation. Cause the bastard was talking the mickey. So that was what I thought! And I discovered just one out of the people/friends I tried to get hold of can swim. One out of 9 peoples.


So here's my question: Do you how to swim in the sea? Or in the local swimming pools?! Yes or no.=Answers.

I can swim but I have phobia of swimming in lakes, sea etc. Only a swimming pool will do for me.

Funny. I got in a similar talk with some whit folks and they asked me the same question. I told them that was a stereotype but then I started thinking.

I can't swim

My mom can't swim

My sisters can't swim

And neither can any of my grands, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Most my black friends can't eeither lol!
