What an obtuse comment! When your daddy held your hand as a kid, did others look at him and think he was a child abuser?

Somalis in general don't know the meaning of personal space, they want to touch you, slap you or poke you while chatting with you....I just hate it!!

Forget hands. It's normal to see two eighty year old men holding each other's waists, dear.surrender wrote:thats a lie and half. somali men dont hold hands. never seen them holding hands! beenta daa waryaa.![]()

Re: why do somali friends hold hands?
Holding hands was caadi/normal in my day, as was sharing a mosquito net when guests came to stay. That's just the way it was, and nobody thought a thing about it.surrender wrote:thats a lie and half. somali men dont hold hands. never seen them holding hands! beenta daa waryaa.![]()

Surrender,
I think you came from Somalia so young that you can't remember what was happening in there.
Back home, girls were friends and they used to hold hands so were the boys...Usually boys go together and girls go together. Actually what was a taboo was a man and women walking together holding hands...
