Look at Tunisia after their leader was ousted. Police is still functioning, Army still functioning, heck they even have a friggin interim Gov already set up. Somalia? Like little school childeren they used the exile of a 'dictator' as a free pass to go crazy, and still have the audacity to place their xoolo antics on a dead Man. What a load of crap. The 2nd in command Xawaadle Madar was there, along with Xusseen Kulmiye. All the ministrial buildings were intact. All the infrastructure was inplace.

Anybody should have left Xamar considering the qashin qub it turned into. It is not the job of a clan be it Darood or anyone to hold an entire country together. It is the responsibility of all the citizens to act like human beings.

All the top leaders in the Kacaan who hailed from Hawiye and Isaaq were in Mogadishu. In fact, they were working with USC and SNM. When Jalle Siyaad Barre and his outmost supporting friends, such as General. Maxamad Ali Samatar, General. Morgan, General Gaani and General Adan Gabyow left Mogadishu, the only people that were in Mogadishu were top officials that were part of the Kacaan. What did they do? They encouraged the USC/SNM militia to loot, kill and rape any one that was DAAROOD.

Is that being civilized to you?

Maybe it's to do with the demographics of the country? I suppose Tunisia today is completely different to Somalia in 1990...

We're not talking about buildings. When Siad Barre left, his government had already collapsed. They controlled no where. The government wasn't intact at all, it had already collapsed. Siad Barre fought tooth and nail to hold on to power, and lost. While Ben Ali left and let the country function. If Siad Barre had left the country without the war coming to him, and this ensued. We could have the conversation. But he didn't, and that is the biggest difference.

Somalis is a people without any kind of nationalistic feelings.

The Kacaan was far from a perfect institution and had several negatives, and I agree it was a dictatorship. However to use 'being ruled by a dictator' as a pass to do whatever You want, is the exact lack of ownership of reponsibioity for ones actions that has been the reason Somalia has not been able to estabslish normalacy. I have realistic facts. Abdirahman Tuur send over thousands of SNM militia to Mogadishu in April 1991 to fight against the SNF and help the USC. After the SNM secured the Northern cities of Somalia, Caydid asked Abdirahman Tuur for weapons and men, and he surely got it.

They partook in the battles of Jamaame, Kismaayo and so forth.
